Gold Coast Cruise Ship Terminal positive for Queensland Property Investment
.
ASF China Property Consortium has been selected as the preferred developer of the Broadwater Marine Project, with designs showing a cruise ship terminal just inside the Seaway near Surfers Paradise.
The development which is planned to encompass Wave Break Island includes a 50-storey tower, Low-Rise Residential Buildings and Several Bridges to Southport.
The AU$5 Billion-Plus Marine Project will accommodate 75 cruise ships per year by 2025 and will inject AU$4 Million-Plus into the economy.
It will also create 12,200 jobs and provide more than double the existing public space at the surrounding Parks and Wave Break Island.
The ASF consortium and Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate are now free to work together to address a number of outstanding issues highlighted during the assessment process, including the need for extensive community consultation, environmental studies and infrastructure planning.
The Queensland State Government understands the potential economic benefits a cruise ship terminal could deliver with enormous positive financial advantages for the Gold Coast.
The number of Cruise Ships expected to visit the Gold Coast after the Cruise Terminal is completed will expose more Australian Property Investors to this beautiful region. Just the advertising globally in travel brochures alone is anticipated to heighten interest in the area which will roll onto property investment.
The design of the terminal is still in its infancy and may well change, depending on the environmental, planning and dredging challenges, but one thing is for sure and that is it is another positive step as Surfers Paradise and the Gold Coast City grow and blossom into a mature city, and one of Australia’s largest regional cities.
Sources say that if it is approved, the development may not start until 2016, and as part of the conditions, the cruise ship terminal must be built first, and the project team say it definitely can be done before the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
