China's demand for Australian wine boosting exports and Australian Agriculture to $1.85 Billion
The number of Australian companies exporting wine increased by 10% over the past twelve months to nearly 1,400 with two thirds of the companies focusing on the Chinese market who are showing great appreciation for Australian wines.
The value and volume of wine both rose by 2% bringing it to $1.85 Billion, with the market being happy to pay more for the quality of wine Australia is producing.
Wine Australia's general manager market development, James Gosper, says the results are positive despite a strong Australian dollar.
There is increasing interest in Australian rural property and farm land with counties such as China and India at the forefront of this push, and I imagine industries such as the wine sector will be included as areas of interest as they slowly take over our agricultural industry.
