Australian Visa changes Helps Foreign Students and Encouraging for Australian Property-Real-Estate
Under the changes to the 485 Visa, which took effect on March 28;
Foreign students who graduate with an Australian Bachelor's Degree, Masters or Doctorate, can obtain a visa to remain and work in Australia for between 2 years and 4 years, depending on their degree which is a significant increase on the previous limit of 18 months.
In an already competitive job market, the incentive is to lure high quality overseas students to study in Australia. The initiative has been taken to encourage quality skilled workers who have assimilated with the Australian community in the time spent in Australian Universities and are happy to join our community to be part of Australia's growing multi-cultural population.
The 485 Visa has had a direct positive affect on the property sector as we are already having enquires regarding the purchase of FIRB Approved investment properties from the parents of student who will spend at least 4 years studying and then have the possibility of another 2 years to 4 years working in Australia.
Hopefully these students who then become professionals in our work force will eventually become Australian citizens and help our country grow and prosper.
