Australian Property Developer Sunland Group plans $215 Million Tower in Brisbane
The people who built Sanctuary Cove, Palazzo Versace and Q1 on the Gold Coast have Brisbane firmly in their sights, with a 139-apartment city skyscraper forming part of a $700 million plan to launch nine projects in Queensland and Victoria over the next 12 months.
The Sunland Tower "Abian" will overlooking the Brisbane River and the Botanic Gardens, which is seen as one of the best available residential site in Australia. The development was approved in 2011 with apartments priced between $700,000 and $4 million, there would be a pool, gym, a 24-hour concierge for tenants, business centre and a Turkish hammam which is the Turkish variant of a steam bath, sauna.
Sunland turned an $8.4 million profit for the first half of the 2013 financial year, a result which came largely from income gained from the sale of aging luxury hotel Palazzo Versace. The new Abian Tower was targeted at a maturing Brisbane market, for young executives and baby boomers keen to move to the city, yet retain the luxuries of "what they have in their house". Sunland's plans mean an injection of $378 million in Queensland's southeast.
In addition to Abian, new marina residences would be built at The Concourse Royal Pines; Concourse villas at Royal Pines; Homes at Sanctuary Cove; and Homes and Villas at Robina which are all additions to their existing large portfolio on the Gold Coast.
